"The main political opponent is the competitor for the first place. I see in these studies something more important – the democratic community in Bulgaria, now represented by the PP-DB, for five years had one MEP in my person, and now they give us four. Now we will have four times more confidence, which means that both in Bulgaria and in Europe we have shown the most important – that Bulgaria can be strong in a united Europe, that our priorities meet the expectations of Bulgarian citizens."
This is what MEP Radan Kanev said in the first pre-election debate for the European Parliament elections on bTV, reports the DB press center.
The Bulgarian MEP from PP-DB is convinced that Bulgaria should enter the Eurozone, as this will lead to an increase and security of investments in Bulgarian production and industry. He emphasized that the candidates for place in the EP should not mislead the Bulgarian citizens, because "the European Parliament has no role in the question of when Bulgaria will enter the Eurozone".
The EU budget is increasingly moving in the direction of policy and priorities. There will be no guaranteed funds for an obscure use for the Bulgarian governments to take money from to build football stadiums in places with a population of 12 people.
Our main task in the next two years is to lay down the priorities that will receive funding and for the Bulgarian government to work on them, engaging both European funds and private capital.
In Bulgaria, EU funds are not invested as they should be according to the EU Treaties - to reduce inequalities between citizens and regions. "I meet with different communities around Bulgaria - entrepreneurs, young people, and what is striking is that some of the most backward regions of Bulgaria continue to receive very little or no European funds. The gap between regions in economic development is increasing instead of decreasing. But here we are only talking about the way the government in Bulgaria spends European money. The important thing in the next five years is to decide how much money and for what priorities will be used."
The problem of Bulgarian politicians with the Green Deal is that they do not know it and do not understand it, as it is a complex legislative package of 30 legislative acts and over 700 billion euros.
The main priority of Radan Kanev and "We continue the change" - "Democratic Bulgaria", as well as the center-right throughout Europe, is the upgrade of the Green Deal with an Industrial Deal. A completely new industrial policy for which Member States must be ready, able to investso that Europe's research potential can be realized in the EU, in a very competitive and clean economy and production.
