The international road Ruse-Svilengrad continues to be blocked, in the area of the city of Galabovo, NOVA reported.
The road has been closed since yesterday morning by protesters from the city and the neighboring villages, who demand that the repairs on the road section to the village of Madrets start. The road is in bad condition, and no major repairs have been done on it in the last more than 40 years.
The condition of the two bridges in a nearly 16-kilometer section is the worst. More than two thousand workers in the "Maritsa East" energy complex pass through it daily. API announced that the actual repair works will start within two weeks and BGN 20 million has been secured. The protesters said they would clear the road if they saw machines.
