The head of state Rumen Radev arrived last night on an official visit to Montenegro, being greeted in Podgorica by guardsmen and a red trail, BNT reported.
The delegation to welcome the president included Alexa Becic, Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Internal Affairs, European and Foreign Relations; Mladen Grgic, economic adviser to Montenegrin President Yakov Milatovic; Vesko Miljonich, Director of the Diplomatic Protocol on the Montenegrin side. On the Bulgarian side, Vasil Durev, first secretary in charge of the political and consular office in Podgorica, and Dimitar Tuchkov, adviser on trade and economic issues, were present.
The Bulgarian president is in Montenegro at the invitation of his Montenegrin colleague Yakov Milatovich.
Today Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva will be welcomed by Yakov Milatovich and his wife Milena Milatovich with an official ceremony that will take place in the presidential palace “Blue Palace” in the city of Cetinje - the historical and cultural capital of Montenegro. The two presidents will hold a "private" meeting. and will lead the plenary talks between official delegations of Bulgaria and Montenegro. Rumen Radev and Yakov Milatovich will give a joint press conference.
As part of the visit, the Bulgarian head of state will hold meetings in Podgorica with Prime Minister Milojko Spaich and the Speaker of the Assembly Andrija Mandic.
The focus of President Rumen Radev's talks during the visit will be topics related to further deepening and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as support for Montenegro's progress in the EU accession process.
