We are seeing a loss of governability on the part of the oligarchy, the clientelistic parties.
Professor Dimitar Vatsov, philosopher, professor at New Bulgarian University and political analyst, made the comment to the BNR, specifying that we are obviously going to new elections.
"It was clear that the government that GERB proposed could not pass. What Boyko Borisov did was to avoid the scenario of negotiating support from DPS and ITN and show the public that he does not want to make such a clientelist coalition as it was possible to make. And that's why he gave this false start to the procedure for forming a government.
According to him, it is impossible to form a government with the third mandate:
"If the PP-DB accepts Kostadin Kostadinov's hand for a cabinet with the third mandate (if the president hands "Vazrazhdane" a mandate to form a government - b.r.), it will fall into a very heavy trap , from which he will not be able to get out. Kostadinov proposes that all controversial issues be resolved by referendums, and this is a very short-cut to what I call a referendum dictatorship. In a situation like today, when society is extremely susceptible to disinformation and propaganda, we can get into many bad for democracy cycle".
According to Prof. Dimitar Vatsov, it would not be surprising if GERB initiated a conversation about changing the Electoral Code to change the electoral system:
"Boyko Borisov has repeatedly insisted that a Greek-type electoral system should be introduced, i.e. to have a large vote-count bonus for the party that wins the election. Which he says will increase handling. Such a change is not appropriate, because the prospect of who will be the winner in the next elections is extremely unclear. We are taking high risks in such a turbulent environment as the current one to carry out such a change.
A possible project by Rumen Radev may appear, but it will not tectonically shift the layers, the political analyst believes.
What is happening in DPS is part of the process of disintegration of facade democracy, commented Prof. Vatsov:
"Political technologists are now neck and neck. We will see how far they will be able to reassemble the DPS, in the name of their private interests, and how far it will erode and may even begin to disintegrate.
