Deputies listen to the former head of KTB Tsvetan Vassilev

The hearing is in connection with the verification of facts and circumstances regarding the presence of unregulated influence in the justice system and commitments of representatives of the judiciary, incompatible with the standards of independence and professional ethics, the activities of the group around Martin Bojanov - the Notary and the activities of the group around former investigator Petyo Petrov – The Euro.

The agenda of the meeting also includes a hearing of the acting Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, the chairman of the DPS Delyan Peevski, as well as Lozan Panov.

It is not yet clear whether Vassilev will be heard via video link – as he participated in the hearings on the KTB bankruptcy cases, or will attend in person. 10 years after the bankruptcy of the bank, Vassilev is in Belgrade, and cannot be extradited to Bulgaria. If he crosses the state line of entry, however, he will be arrested.

Vassilev has sent a letter to the deputy in which he expresses his desire to cooperate with the committee. He informed that he had learned from the media about Zlatanov's proposal, in his capacity as deputy chairman of the commission, for his hearing.

At the previous meeting of the commission, the chairman of the PG of the DPS, Delyan Peevski, did not appear at the hearing, which forced the PP-DB to send written questions to him.

On Wednesday, the prosecutor's collegium at the SJC decided to send all the documents collected for the influence group in the judicial system of Martin Bojanov-Notary to the temporary parliamentary committee on the Notary and Pepi Euroto.

After Bojanov's murder at the end of January, the Judicial and Prosecution College of the High Judicial Council undertook a series of hearings and document analysis in an attempt to determine whether he had traded justice with the help of prosecutors, investigators and judges.
