They restrict the movement of trucks between Silistra and Shumen in the afternoon

The reason is the expected high temperatures above 35 degrees

The movement of trucks over 20 tons on the I-7 Silistra road – Shumen on the territory of the Silistra region will be restricted from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. due to the expected high temperatures above 35 degrees, the "Road Infrastructure" Agency announced. (API), cited by BTA.

The suspension of heavy goods traffic in certain sections of the republican road network in the afternoon hours, when the temperatures are the highest, is to minimize the risks of deformations of the road surface and to protect the life and health of travelers.

During a traffic stop, HGVs will wait outside the roadway at designated locations without impeding other road users. The restriction does not apply to motor vehicles transporting perishable food, temperature controlled cargo, live animals and dangerous cargo.

Agency "Road Infrastructure" appeals to drivers to drive carefully and at an appropriate speed, to obey the traffic rules and not to undertake risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all other passengers. The API also calls not to use the emergency lanes on the highways for faster movement in heavy traffic, as this prevents the passage of vehicles with a special mode of movement in the event of an accident.

Around and after noon, significant cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop again over Western and Central Bulgaria and in places, mainly in the mountainous regions and the Danube plain, there will be short-term rain showers, accompanied by thunder, reported the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). It will be sunny in Eastern Bulgaria throughout the day. The wind will be weak, and in the eastern regions moderate from the east-southeast. Maximum temperatures will be between 32° and 37°.
