For the first emergency mission of the “Bulgaria Heli Med Service’ EAD in Pirin reported NOVA.
Pilots, together with the medical team on duty, were activated to provide emergency air support to an injured woman with multiple injuries and trauma.
The Air Medical Emergency helicopter took off at 6:10 p.m. from the Sofia Operational Base to the area of Malkia kazan under Mount Vihren in Pirin, where help was provided on the spot.
Due to the rugged mountainous terrain, two teams of the Mountain Rescue Service had to be transported by helicopter to transport the injured woman to an operating site convenient for landing and reloading.
The mountain operation was perfectly coordinated between “Bulgaria Heli Med Service” EAD and the Mountain Rescue Service. The injured woman was successfully transported to the "St. Anna” for further treatment.
