Ivan Dermendzhiev: I expect the replacement of Kalin Stoyanov

According to him, Dimitar Glavchev faces a very important test - who will he propose to replace Kalin Stoyanov and whether his profile will be similar to the current acting Minister of Internal Affairs

The figure of Kalin Stoyanov caused many criticisms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Minister of the Interior became the reason for the rejection of Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva's cabinet. Now the question remains - who will Dimitar Glavchev appoint as police chief?

"Glavchev did not have any conversations with me. Of course, I expect Kalin Stoyanov to be replaced. I hope that Glavchev will learn from the failure of the previous Prime Minister candidate, who stubbornly supported this candidacy. I hope Glavchev realizes the enormous public tension that the figure of Kalin Stoyanov generates. It is not accidental. He showed heavy political commitments", commented former interior minister Ivan Demerdzhiev in the program "The Day ON AIR".

According to him, Dimitar Glavchev is facing a very important test - who will he propose to replace Kalin Stoyanov and whether his profile will be similar to the current acting Minister of Internal Affairs.

"Very early on, Kalin Stoyanov showed that he was politically committed and that he aspired to a political career. This basically prevented him from successfully fitting into the role of acting Minister of the Interior, who must be neutral and ensure the fair conduct of the vote," Demerdzhiev told Bulgaria ON AIR.

Before taking the post of acting internal prime minister, Kalin Stoyanov was the head of GDBOP. According to the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Stoyanov coped with this task, but was unable to fit into his current role.

"I worked well with him for the simple reason that he followed orders, completed the tasks that were set for him. I have no objection to that, but the role of a doer of certain tasks that are set from above and the role of a person who has to allocate and set the tasks are very different. He could not go from one role to another, he could not realize the responsibility of this post, and it is extremely serious, responsible and burdened with an awful lot of burdens for the one who exercises it. He must have the strength to bear them, to be objective, his actions to be in accordance with the law at every moment, to be impartial", Demerdzhiev was categorical.
