On Tuesday, acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev sent letters to the chairmen of the parliamentary groups in the 50th National Assembly regarding the nominations.

Some of the parties announced their candidates. GERB-SDS will propose the candidacy of former Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva. The nomination of “There is such a people” is Velislava Petrova, who was deputy minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kiril Petkov's office.

The BSP identified Sergey Stanishev as a suitable candidate for the position, but stated that they would announce their decision after the meeting of the Party's Executive Bureau was held. The parliamentary group of the DPS proposed the People's Representative Iskra Mihailova as Bulgarian European Commissioner. However, according to MEP Ilhan Kyuchuk, her election is illegitimate.
