Lena Borislavova: Nominations for the European and Bulgarian institutions are symbolic acts of the respective political power

It is right to seek a balance in the representation of men and women in politics, because everyone brings a different worldview, ideas and solutions to problems and this is how they are achieved better results for everyone

Lena Borislavova from "We continue the change" doubted the correctness of the election for the Bulgarian European Commissioner.

Ursula von der Leyen wanted Bulgaria to be represented in the EC by Ekaterina Zaharieva, who was proposed by GERB.

Here is Borislavova's position:

"It is right to seek a balance in the representation of men and women in politics, because everyone brings a different worldview, ideas and solutions to problems, and thus better results are achieved for all.

But it is not right to achieve this balance by force and despite the real skills, reputation and real contribution that the candidate for a given position has and the actions at decisive moments. Because such an approach, instead of affirming equality between men and women, leads to even greater inequality and denial of the right of brave, smart and capable women to occupy responsible roles and positions.

When you participated or at least turned a blind eye to the scheme to issue Bulgarian passports for money, you are part of the process of negotiations on Turkish Stream and you are photographed with Lavrov… you may be a loyal political cadre, but are you up to the job you aspired to?

Nominations for the European and Bulgarian institutions are symbolic acts of the respective political power. Indicative of their manner and understanding of politics and principles of government".
