The minimum wage in our country should be BGN 200 lower. This is the opinion of Vasil Velev, the chairman of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria (AIKB).

"The provision in our Labor Code is contrary to international law. We are facing elections and it will be implemented. They relate the basic minimum to the gross average salary. The difference is 22%, the data is official. Another mistake is made. Civil contracts are also calculated in the average salary. They have no place in the calculation of average wages. As a result of these two errors, there is a big difference of over 27% in the calculation of the only parameter," he explained to Bulgaria ON AIR.

"If it is calculated correctly, but if the basic salary is taken, it is 800 leva and cents. BGN 1,077 is not 55% but 67% of the average basic salary. So half of the workers will receive the same minimum wage. We will publish data that we have taken from the statistics and the National Institute of Statistics, Velev said in the program "The Day ON AIR".

"A country where everyone gets equal. Then everyone starts to get lazy and wait for the state to increase their salary by increasing the minimum wage. Last year, 45% of Bulgarians received the same minimum wage. This is absolutely insane! This model does not incentivize upskilling. Unlike North Korea, we have no compulsion to make people work," said the AIKB chairman.

According to him, all the messages in our country are aimed at the lazy and unqualified, who are becoming an increasingly large percentage.

"There was a great deal of unanimity in Parliament regarding this erroneous formula. With quick steps we go to crash into the wall. No one is forcing you to work for minimum wage. 5-6% of people should receive minimum wage. Last year it was 45% - absolutely abnormal work. This leads to a lower standard of living. We will continue to be the poorest because we work even worse," Velev stressed.

"We take loans and generously pay salaries to the state administration, to the budget sphere... In industry, salaries are decreasing. We are turning into a dictatorship of politicians and administration. There will surely be a proletarian revolution soon. Those who fill the budget, from which the salaries of the officials are paid, receive less than them, and the gap widens. We borrow because the budget is in deficit. The growth in the housekeeper is much smaller than it was predicted", explained Ganiela Angelova's guest.

A big mistake is the postponement of the "household waste" fee. and we face fines, concluded Vasil Velev.
