Ukrainian statesmen are grateful to our government for not obstructing aid to Kiev, security expert said

All supplies of equipment for the European members of NATO, which are provided by American manufacturers are delayed, and this includes the Bulgarian order for the F-16 fighters, as well as the fighters planned for Ukraine.

Against this background, the authorities in Kiev are grateful that the Bulgarian government does not actively interfere with the military aid coming from our country.

This is what the security expert from the Center for the Study of Democracy, Mariyan Sabev, said in the program "Direct" on Bulgaria ON AIR days after his visit to Kiev, where he met with high-ranking Ukrainian statesmen and military leaders.

Ukraine is aware that it has some friends, but no allies, he is categorical.

"The second plan is that there are other allied nations, supposed allies, that actively prevent the supply of weapons and defense equipment to the extent that it is carried out by private individuals. The decision of our state leadership was relatively limited in terms of military aid, but it is a publicly known fact that our military industry is working to provide equipment and ammunition for the Ukrainian army," Sabev pointed out.

Ukraine is home to outstanding innovation in military affairs, military production and technology development. However, the issue of providing for the needs of the Ukrainian defense has two sides, the expert also said.

"On the one hand, we have to look at the readiness of the military industry itself to provide for the needs of its own army and, of course, the need for external supplies, since they objectively cannot develop all kinds of systems,", he explained.

The Russian propaganda machine in Ukraine is almost eradicated, the expert from the Center for the Study of Democracy is convinced.

"Russian informational radiation fails to penetrate the Ukrainian soul. Ukrainians are Europeans in their essence, and Russian imperial propaganda has no place," Sabev said.

And life in the capital city of Kiev follows its own and somewhat normal rhythm, he thinks.

"Kiev is a beautiful European capital, much more so than Sofia lately. The people there seem seemingly calm, fatigue is clearly visible on their faces, but there is no despair. For outsiders like me, having rockets, daggers and drones flying in the sky, several times a day and sometimes hourly, we experienced it for the first time, but the population there is used to it. They are extremely strong and their confidence in their ongoing struggle is unequivocal", Mariyan Sabev also shared.
