A young candidate from the BSP met with over 10,000 residents of the capital in a month

Citizens are not just a number or votes in the ballot box, emphasizes Gabriel Valkov

At the end of the election campaign Gabriel Valkov, leader of the list of "BSP - United Left" at the 23rd MIR Sofia, reported that he managed to talk to more than 10,000 residents of the capital within a month.

"At the beginning of this campaign, I set myself one goal - to shake the hand of 10,000 citizens of Sofia in 1 month," says Valkov, who is also the chairman of the Youth Union in the BSP. He admits that at the beginning the very idea seemed to him difficult to achieve, but during the campaign he managed to visit a significant part of his constituency and make contact with a wide range of people. “It is not about numbers or a number that must be achieved at any cost,” clarifies Valkov and shares that this is not just a pre-election tactic, but an opportunity to connect with people and understand their real problems.

“Citizens are not just numbers or votes in the ballot box. They are real people, with their own concerns, joys, and expectations of politicians,” he states. Valkov says that he achieved his goal by shaking the hand of his 10,000th fellow citizen during a tour of the capital's Krasno Selo region last week. As the youngest leader of the united left in the country, Valkov focused his election campaign on initiatives included in the program "First job!" First home! First child!".

It foresees measures to support young people in finding their first job, buying their own home and raising their first child. The program was actively promoted by the other young candidates on the list of "BSP - United Left" for the 23rd MIR, including Georgi Angelov, Ivan Panayotov and Sava Dikov.
