Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev confirmed to bTV that there will be no ground transport on Saturday and Sunday, but the metro will run.

He indicated that he has an invitation to a meeting for Monday, but his condition is that ground transport be restored. He also specified that there is still time.

„Sofians are paying the price for when we will be able to understand each other“, said Terziev.

„What we have from them are demands. What I have presented to them is a clear model with an estimate of why we are proposing what we are proposing, and how it will solve the problem. When someone from the municipal council wants to do something irresponsible, he has every right to do so, but we will all have to pay the bills later," the mayor added.

He said he would make sure that a way is devised for people with public transport cards who have not been able to use them in recent days to be compensated for the inconvenience.

The Sofia Municipality is still considering whether traffic should be free in the bus lanes, and whether parking should be free in the “blue“ and “green“ zones.

Most likely, the buffer parking lots will be able to be used free of charge.
