The case against Kiril Petkov for the arrest of Boyko Borisov began on the merits. His defense requested the recusal of the jury on the grounds that it was not objective, Nova TV reports. The reason - the magistrates did not agree with the lawyers' request that all witnesses named by them not be questioned in the courtroom and that their testimonies from the pre-trial proceedings be used.
According to the prosecutor's office, since the case is not yet in the phase to comment on specific evidence, there is no reason for recusal. The court also refused to withdraw voluntarily, as it has the right by law to decide which witnesses it wants to hear in person.

Boyko Borisov, Vladislav Goranov and Sevdelina Arnaudova will also be questioned in the course of the case, but at one of the next hearings. The next hearing will be on September 23
