The authorities gathered courage and opened the "Pandora's Box" with home inspections and the "houses of horrors" discovered. This was stated by the Minister of Social Affairs Borislav Gutsanov during the Labor and Social Policy Committee, reported by BNT.

According to Gutsanov, every state institution must become familiar with these cases and measures must be taken by the entire state, including the National Assembly.

"For the first time, we gathered courage to open the "Pandora's Box" "It is not a secret, it was known before that there were such cases, of course, in such a light, hardly anyone expected it," said Social Minister Borislav Gutsanov.

He emphasized that this was a joint action with the Ministry of Justice, with the talks and preparation of the action starting a month ago. From Gutsanov's words, it became clear that the Prime Minister was informed about what was happening all the time.

"These are heartbreaking things, which Minister Georgiev and I correctly described as “chambers of horrors“ and as something that has long lost its human face. Now the state has found the strength to open "Pandora's Box" and it is right," explained the Social Minister.

As a measure to deal with the situation, the number of inspectors at the Agency for the Quality of Social Services will be increased. Currently, they are under 50 people. In all likelihood, an additional 31 positions will be allocated at the next meeting.

"If all institutions, ministries, the National Assembly, all agencies, local authorities are not working, we cannot cope with this problem, especially in view of the demographic crisis in our country. The problem is much more serious and I am glad that the cabinet has started to work purposefully on this issue. There cannot be such ugly phenomena," the minister said.
