Dr. Tsvetislava Galabova: I do not doubt the conclusion of the Military Medical Academy on Yavor's death

"There are three ways out for drug addicts - Cemeteries, Psychiatry, Prison", the psychiatrist emphasized

Cocaine triggers severe psychoses that can lead to a fatal end, Dr. Tsvetislava Galabova, director of the DPB “St. Ivan Rilski” in Kurilo, is categorical.

At a discussion on mental health within the framework of the International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films, the psychiatrist also commented on the case of Yavor's death in Varna, reported novini.bg.

“From what I saw and read about the case, I can confirm that cocaine triggers severe psychoses. Yes, raising blood pressure and pulse can cause swelling of the lungs and brain. Yes, there can be an excess of power, but sometimes the psychosis resulting from drug use looks scary. Those who use cocaine turn into biological superpowers. Sometimes it takes seven police officers to handle it, and I have witnessed just such a case. The patient had used a large amount and felt invincible, he simply scattered everyone around him and it took time for the uniformed officers to subdue him. In such cases, I don't know who to worry about more - the user, the police, the medics...“

Dr. Tsvetislava Galabova does not question the chemical-toxicological examination conducted by her colleagues from the Military Medical Academy, whose conclusion is for a very large amount of cocaine in Yavor Georgiev's blood. According to them, the drug was taken 2 to 4 hours before death and is in a concentration tens of times higher than normal. The immediate cause of death was acute cardiovascular and respiratory failure, which developed as a result of brain edema, is the conclusion of the forensic medical examination.

Dr. Galabova also pointed out that police officers should not be called murderers and doctors should not be called murderers in white coats, because everyone who has a problem turns to them in the end.

Users are increasingly developing psychoses, Dr. Galabova also said. More and more and younger people are using psychostimulants that stimulate the mood.

The drug user feels that he can do anything, but for the brain the result is lethal. The blood pressure reaches 240/180, and the pulse - 210.

„There are three ways out for drug addicts - Cemeteries, Psychiatry, Prison.“, the psychiatrist emphasized.
