In order not to be accused of exceeding their rights, Ministry of Interior employees will become more cautious and will not dare to fulfill their duties, which could lead to another mistake or incident and someone getting hurt. No one benefits from shaking trust in the institution and applying labels until the whole truth from the investigation comes to light. This was what Krasimir Kostov, a member of the Management Board of the Trade Union Federation of Ministry of Interior Employees and chairman of the Varna branch, commented to Radio Varna of the Bulgarian National Radio, after the case of the deceased 36-year-old Yavor Georgiev from Varna.
According to him, society has been quite outraged by such events in recent years, but there should be more moderate speech from the media and politicians.
"These guys were accused of exceeding their rights without any evidence and called murderers before all the facts were clarified," he is categorical.
According to him, based on the data released so far on the case, one cannot speak of exceeding rights. When asked why the officers' body cameras were not turned on, he justified the omission by charging the devices.
Kostov is adamant that the two officers followed the instructions and rules and directed the patrol car to the entrance of the gas station, since it was also equipped with a camera.
