Assen Agov: I do not rule out the possibility that the GERB presidential candidate is Rosen Zhelyazkov - that's what people are saying

"There will be no collapse of the PP, but there will be a rethinking to restore trust in the people through anti-corruption actions. The party will decide for itself whether Assen Vassilev is capable of leading it or alternatives will be sought. The situation smells like stale food with bad breath to me," the journalist also commented

Preliminary elections between the urban right and GERB could weed out a right-wing presidential candidate. He must be Euro-Atlantic and with a clear vision for the development of Bulgaria after entering the eurozone. I do not rule out the possibility that the GERB candidate is Rosen Zhelyazkov - that's what people are saying. This was commented on in the program “Offensive with Lyubomir Ognyanov” on NOVA News journalist Asen Agov.
On June 25, Kiril Petkov announced his resignation as co-chairman of the PP and as a party deputy in the 51st National Assembly. The reshuffle came after the scandal with municipal mayors and councilors, who left the formation due to accusations against the leadership of pressure to conclude public procurement contracts with certain companies.

"There will be no collapse of the PP, but there will be a rethinking to restore trust in the people through anti-corruption actions. The party will decide for itself whether Asen Vassilev is capable of leading it or alternatives will be sought. The situation smells like stale food with bad breath to me," commented Agov.
"Obviously, the ruling coalition is the one who benefits from what is happening in the PP. Borisov and Peevski are the ones who profit from the problems. They are already saying that the accusations against them for corruption come from corrupt people. "The destabilization of Bulgaria at this moment is extremely unnecessary and goes against the calls of the authorities - who want us to cross the threshold of the eurozone without disruptions," Agov also noted.
