Nadezhda Yordanova: We are preparing a vote of no confidence in September. We are doing it to outline possible alternatives

"And in fact, as the configuration in parliament is currently seen, the decision for new elections depends on Borisov and Peevski. Whether Borisov will have the freedom to decide this himself is an interesting intrigue that we expect to see in the coming months," said the PP-DB MP on the occasion of the upcoming new elections

Nadezhda Yordanova, former Minister of Justice and current MP from PP-DB, commented on the BNT airwaves on the vote of no confidence, which is planned by the coalition in September.

"In parliamentary life, the responsibility of the second largest political force is to seek and show a possible alternative to the current government. That is why we take this responsibility very seriously and are preparing a vote of no confidence in September, which will precisely outline what the possible management alternative is on a specific policy. We are doing it so that there is a serious political debate in the plenary hall and possible alternatives can be outlined before the public. What we have seen in the plenary hall in recent months, unfortunately, is not that. These are some blows in the air, a passing of the ball between "Vazrazhdane" and GERB. Let us not be deceived. This series of votes, precisely in the period when Bulgaria had to solve its national super task, namely entering the euro, "Vazrazhdane', "Velicie" and MECH formed a kind of vote that was obvious that it would not pass. Accordingly, this strengthened the government, solidified the governing majority and made Peevski's support particularly visible and completely acceptable to Borisov", said Nadezhda Yordanova.

Yordanova also commented on whether new elections are coming in the country.

"Time will tell. And in fact, as the configuration in parliament currently shows, the decision for new elections depends on Borisov and Peevski. Whether Borisov will have the freedom to decide for himself is an interesting intrigue that we expect to see in the coming months," said the MP.

The MP commented on the increased tension in the ruling coalition and the accusations of corruption against mayors.

"We insist that every single case, regardless of which political force and who exactly has any doubts, be investigated quickly, objectively, comprehensively and resolved by the court as quickly as possible. Here in the cases, especially in Varna, we see selective justice. The question arises whether the law is applied equally to everyone. I would argue here that in the case of Varna, the law is applied equally to everyone. Because we have a selective search for a court that will decide the issue of the preventive measure. Apparently, this is the goal and for it to consider the accusation, with an absolutely vague attraction of some anonymous member of parliament. This is an absolute disgrace", comments Yordanova.
