Repair of the repair has been going on for a year in the newly built kindergarten “Kamenitsa“ in Plovdiv. This was reported by worried parents who believe that some of the premises are not healthy for their children to stay in, BNT reports. The construction of the garden cost 4 million leva, provided under a European program, and the building was put into operation in early 2024.
Parents are raising the alarm that their children are in a risky environment and expect a quick solution to the problem.

Anton Shukerov: "I saw with my own eyes on July 11 that there are still leaks inside, you know it's a dry period, there is a real leak right now."

Martina Kraeva: "It's not normal, in a brand new building the roof is leaking - to collect water in buckets, to have damp spots near the electrical installation and to smell like mold, moisture, a place where children stay for 8 hours."
A few days ago, samples were sent for microbiological examination from the compromised premises to find out if there are molds and microorganisms in the rooms, the garden management announced and reassured parents:

Vyara Daneva, director of the DG “Kamenitsa“: "An accredited laboratory was called on July 1st, which measured the air humidity. Specifically, in this room, the humidity is within the permissible range of 30-60 percent under Regulation 3."
Due to the leaks, months ago, the children even had to be moved to the gym, which has been converted into a study room. Beds were provided in other groups for an afternoon nap.

Vyara Daneva, director: "We have not notified the Health Insurance Institute, but for this whole thing to happen, it was necessary to mobilize the entire staff so that we could turn a gym into a study room within 24 hours."

Ivelina Plachkova: "It is impossible for teachers not to be concerned about the health of the children. Maybe they are waiting for the ceiling to fall on them or the plaster to collapse. We finally want someone to pay attention. We have been waiting for a year now. There is no repair. The children themselves say that it is leaking."
The contractor company assured that they will soon finally solve the problem with the leaks, and the costs will be at their expense.

Ivan Georgiev – representative of the construction contractor: "When the problem appeared last year, we did a complete third layer of waterproofing of the entire roof, currently the roof is in perfect condition."

The compromised areas are already being checked with a thermal camera to find the location of the leaks.
