Stanislav Stoyanov: The budget for agriculture is decreasing, it is being directed towards the military industry

The MEP visited Veliko Tarnovo

The MEP, elected from the “Vazrazhdane” quota, chairman of “Europe of Sovereign Nations” and deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of the same name, visited Veliko Tarnovo today.

A press conference for journalists was the first initiative, part of Stanislav Stoyanov's program for his visit to the city. It touched on topics such as the water crisis, the eurozone and the new agricultural policy of the European Union.

“The new multiannual financial framework provides for 20% less funds for agriculture. This is not well received by a number of member states in a situation where the European market is opening up to third countries and there are agreements in place such as the one with “Mercosur”, which make European production less competitive,” said Stanislav Stoyanov.

He added that while money for agriculture is decreasing, that for the military industry is increasing, which will increase fivefold for the period 2028-2034.
This makes the MEP believe that a new vote of no confidence in the Commission is entirely possible.

At 6:30 p.m., the MEP's meeting with citizens began.
