Alexander Nikolov: They will take advantage of the "Botas" affair when there is political tension

"Someone has received serious incentives not to have the "Chaira" nuclear power plant. The money will come from us. The Bulgarian energy sector, if managed normally, generates at least 400-500 million leva per month in profit. But they go elsewhere," commented the former Minister of Energy

The state is bringing the "Chaira" nuclear power plant back to full life.

"The biggest question is why we won't get an answer until now. In the Bulgarian energy sector, important questions are not asked. Has anyone heard anything about "Botas"? The current situation shows what the Bulgarian energy sector is. "We will all pay the bill together," said former Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov on "Denyat ON AIR."

According to him, people have not yet felt the effect of what has been done so far, namely - higher bills.

"Pandora's box can easily be opened. The current situation is directly related to the so-called "assembly". At the moment there is autocracy and it would be wise for those who created this situation to stop blaming others," he explained to Bulgaria ON AIR.
The "Botas" case
Nikolov is categorical that there was no intention to bankrupt "Bulgargaz."

"The problem with "Bulgargaz" is that the anti-corruption government refused to investigate what happened. They will take advantage of the "Botas" affair when there is political tension. In order to put pressure on a certain group that will try to make a political project," commented the former Minister of Energy.
According to him, "Chaira" should have been activated a long time ago.

"Someone has received serious incentives not to have the "Chaira" PAWPP happen. The money will come from us. The Bulgarian energy sector, if managed normally, generates at least 400-500 million leva per month in profit. But they go elsewhere. Bulgaria is the richest country in the EU in terms of resources. We are the most strategic country in the EU," emphasized the former Minister of Energy.
