Eight men are in police custody after a fight between neighbors in the village of Stryama.
Immediate intervention was required at 5 p.m. yesterday by teams of RU-Rakovski and the Plovdiv sector “Specialized Police Forces”, after receiving a call to 112 about the altercation.
As a result of the professional actions of the uniformed officers, the escalating physical altercation between two large related families was stopped in a timely manner and no one was seriously injured.
Nine men between the ages of 19 and 44 were found to be the initiators.
Eight of them were detained on police warrants, and one was left under medical observation with a non-life-threatening stab wound.
A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated on the case and work on its documentation continues. With an assured police presence, public order has been restored in the settlement and the situation there is calm, the Ministry of the Interior of Plovdiv reports.
