Israel intercepts ballistic missile fired by Yemeni Houthis

No reports of casualties or damage so far

The Israeli army said it had intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Yemeni Houthi rebels early this morning, the "Times of Israel" newspaper reported, quoted by BTA.

There are no reports of casualties or damage so far.

Air raid sirens were sounded in central Israel and several settlements in the southern West Bank.

The Iranian-backed Yemeni rebels have repeatedly attacked Israel with ballistic missiles and drones since the war between the Israeli army and "Hamas" began on October 7. The Houthis say their attacks are a show of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. Yemeni rebels frequently attack Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv and Ramon Airport in southern Israel. In response, Israel has launched a series of strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, DPA reports.
