The public address systems at four airports in the US and Canada were hacked and broadcast statements supporting the Palestinian movement Hamas and criticizing US and Israeli leaders Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, CNN reported.
According to the network, the incidents occurred at Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania, as well as at airports in the Canadian cities of Kelowna, Victoria and Windsor. The hack disrupted operations at the airport and caused flight delays.
A Harrisburg airport spokesman told CNN that "an unauthorized user gained access to the airport's public address system and started an unauthorized recording."
"The message was political in nature and did not contain any threats against the airport, airlines or passengers," he added.
