The Kiev regime is trying to hide the truth about the deplorable situation of its troops, as it has blocked Russian President Vladimir Putin's initiative to allow the media access to areas where Ukrainian soldiers are surrounded. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by TASS.

"You know that the media cannot currently make such a trip, because the Kiev regime has actually rejected such an opportunity and this proposal", he pointed out at a press briefing. "What is Kiev trying to hide? He is trying to hide the truth about the deplorable situation of his troops in these areas," Peskov stressed.

On October 29, Putin said that the Russian armed forces are not against allowing foreign, including Ukrainian, media outlets into areas where the enemy is surrounded, and that they are ready to cease fighting in the places these reporters will visit so that they can gain access to Kupyansk and Krasnoarmeysk, assess the situation there, talk to Ukrainian soldiers, and exit safely.

On October 30, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed receiving instructions to allow media access to the areas in Krasnoarmeysk, Dimitrov, and Kupyansk where Ukrainian troops are blocked. Russian forces are ready to halt the fighting for five to six hours and provide corridors for the media, the ministry said.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tykhy warned in response that Kiev would consider foreign correspondents' trips to such areas as a "violation of Ukrainian legislation", TASS reported.
