Fighters from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, surrounded in the area of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name - Pokrovsk) and Dimitrov (Ukrainian name - Mirnograd), are unable to withstand the pressure of Russian troops and are beginning to surrender, the leader of the self-proclaimed DPR Denis Pushilin announced today, quoted by RIA Novosti, reports Focus.
„Despite the enemy's repeated attempts to unblock their positions and counterattack, our fighters are acting professionally. The command has developed a strategy and the encirclement has been implemented effectively. The enemy is almost surrounded, cannot fully withstand the pressure and is beginning to surrender“, said Pushilin.
According to him, the Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrov agglomeration is among the most tense points on the front. The DPR authorities are paying special attention to rescuing civilians and providing the necessary assistance to residents of the liberated areas.
Encirclement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
By the end of October, Russian troops from the “Center“ group completed the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in the Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov areas. The two settlements form an urban agglomeration and play a key role in the logistics of Ukrainian units in Donbass. A significant part of the supply route to Chasov Yar passes through Dimitrov, and Krasnoarmeysk was an important point for the defense along the entire front line in the DPR.
According to the latest data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the offensive continues in the Dinas microdistrict of Krasnoarmeysk, as well as in the northwestern and eastern districts of the Central district and the western industrial zone. In Dimitrov, the troops of the “Center“ are conducting active fighting in the Vostochny district, the southern part of the city and the Zapadny district.
Over the past 24 hours, according to the Russian military, Ukrainian forces have suffered the following losses:
over 275 personnel
2 tanks
4 armored combat vehicles
1 pickup truck
self-propelled artillery mount “Akatsia“
