Xi Jinping told Trump that Taiwan's reunification with China is an important part of the "post-war order"

Chinese President Xi Jinping clarified China's principled position on Taiwan issues in a phone call with his US counterpart Donald Trump, state news agency Xinhua reported.

Xi told Trump that the two countries should maintain the "momentum in their relations" after their meeting last month in South Korea, and stressed that "Taiwan's reunification with China is an important part of the international post-war order."

The Chinese president also said that China and the US, who fought together in World War II, should "work together to preserve the victorious outcome of the war."
