US President Donald Trump announced a "massive environmental disaster" unfolding in the state of Maryland due to a burst sewer line.
According to the head of state, the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. is being polluted.
„Due to the gross incompetence of local Democratic Party leaders, in particular Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a massive environmental disaster is unfolding in the Potomac River. "Due to the mismanagement of critical waste management systems by local and state agencies in Maryland, a burst sewer line has released millions of gallons of untreated wastewater directly into the Potomac River," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He stressed that he had ordered federal authorities to ensure the protection of the river and Washington's water supply. He said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), currently shut down due to the partial government shutdown, would play a key role in the response.
