The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack on Iran's Natanz uranium enrichment facility, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
"This is a gross violation of international law", said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
Iran notified the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that the Natanz uranium enrichment facility was hit today, the agency reported in a publication on the "Ex" platform.
The United States and Israel struck the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Iran this morning, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported, Reuters and DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
There was no leakage of radioactive substances and residents near the facility were not at risk, the agency added. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said there had been no increase in radiation levels outside the site, adding that it was reviewing the report.
It is one of the country's most important uranium enrichment sites. The White House says the primary goal of the war, which began with Israel on February 28, is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Israel views Iran's nuclear and missile programs as the greatest threat to its existence. Earlier this month, the IAEA confirmed new damage to buildings at the entrance to the underground site at Natanz. The IAEA also called for military restraint after this morning's attack on Iran's Natanz nuclear complex.
"It is essential to avoid any risk of a nuclear accident," IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi wrote in Ex. The United States and Israel have already struck Iran's nuclear infrastructure in June 2025. US President Donald Trump then declared that Iran's nuclear facilities had been "completely and totally destroyed". Tehran denies seeking to develop nuclear weapons.
