New Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar said that his country will continue to maintain good relations with Georgia, but has no intention of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, Georgian public media GPB reported, BTA reported.

In response to a question from a Georgian media outlet, the leader of the Hungarian TISA party said that the good relations between Hungary and Georgia will continue. The question was also related to whether closer cooperation with the Georgian government can be expected.

Magyar stressed that the fact that Viktor Orban's government has maintained strong ties with certain countries, whether in the Balkans or elsewhere, does not mean that Hungary will worsen its relations with the same countries. On the contrary, if there are countries with which relations have not been good, they will be improved.

"It is in our common interest to work together, to cooperate and to prosper. I look forward to visiting you in Tbilisi or elsewhere. I am ready to work together, but I want to clearly emphasize that we have no intention of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries," he said.

According to him, Hungary will not interfere in the elections in Georgia or any other country.

"This is not our style and it is not the job of any European government. Every government is elected to serve and represent its citizens," added Péter Magyar.
