Seoul threatens Pyongyang with 'regime end' if nuclear weapons are used

Republic of Korea Defense Ministry official Chung Ha Kyu warned

North Korea faces "regime end" ; in the event of the use of a nuclear weapon. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Korea Chung Ha Kyu, TASS reported.

„If North Korea tries to use nuclear weapons, it will face an immediate, massive and decisive response from the Republic of Korea and the United States, the North Korean regime will meet its end,” Chung said Ha-kyu. According to him, with the continuation of "provocations" Pyongyang will lead to strengthening the potential to use US extended deterrence and the independent capabilities of the South Korean military, including the “three axis“ system.

Extended deterrence means Washington's willingness to use any means, including nuclear, to protect an ally. Under the "three axes" the concept of a pre-emptive strike on the location of missile forces is considered, the multi-tiered missile defense system and plans to eliminate the enemy's leadership are understood.

On April 22, the DPRK held its first full-scale tactical exercise to launch a simulated nuclear counterstrike using 600 mm rocket salvo systems. North Korean media said the exercises were conducted in response to maneuvers by the United States and the Republic of Korea.
