The level of the Lena River in Yakutia passed 11 meters

It is 120 centimeters above the level for "dangerous phenomenon"

The water level of the Lena at the Delgei temporary water measuring station was 1,120 cm, which is 120 cm higher than the level of the dangerous phenomenon, the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Civil Protection and Life Safety of the Sakha Republic reported, TASS reported.

"In the Lena River at the temporary water measuring station Delgei at 08:00 Yakut time, the water level is 1120 cm, which is 120 cm higher than the beginning of the flood mark (a sign of a dangerous phenomenon). An ice bridge can be seen under the pillar. In the next 24 hours, the additional growth will be 20-40 cm, the department announced and specified that six yard areas were flooded.

"Downstream of the Lena River at the temporary measuring stations Daban, 1st Neryuktyainsk and Killakh in the Olekminsky district, in the next 24 hours the river may overflow and exceed the mark for the beginning of flooding in populated areas by 10 -40 cm. It is expected that the water will reach the flood plain and flood the low-lying areas of the populated areas, the ministry added.

On the Lena near Olekminsk there are clearings - in the near future an ice slide is expected there. Earlier, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Yakutia reported that the ice on the Lena River this year broke three days earlier than usual for a long period of time. The department noted that in the region this year, about 100 settlements, roads and bridge crossings of local importance may enter the flood zone during the passage of the water

Yakutia is one of the most flood-prone regions in Russia. Spring floods are especially dangerous, when the level of rivers rises and they overflow their banks due to the formation of siltation. Heavy rainfall along small mountain rivers is also dangerous. To prevent this threat, preventive measures are implemented every year in the republic.
