The Turkish coast guard announced today that it had rescued 94 illegal migrants in the Aegean Sea , which he claims were pushed into Turkish waters from Greece, writes “Daily Sabah“, quoted by BTA.
According to the Coast Guard Command, its vessel was dispatched to the area after a group of migrants on life rafts was spotted off the town of Cesme, Izmir County. Turkish authorities have identified 66 migrants, including 17 children. They were pushed out by the Greek authorities, the announcement said.
In another case, 28 migrants, including eight children, were found near Seferihisar. They traveled on a rubber boat.
Turkey often accuses Greece of illegally pushing migrants back into Turkish waters. Greece rejects the accusations and says that the actions of its coast guard are in accordance with international law.
