Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurinas Kaschunas said today that Russia is moving troops from Kaliningrad to Kursk Oblast, Reuters reported.

Kaliningrad is a Baltic exclave of Russia, and Kursk Oblast is in the southern part of the country. Ukrainian forces have been conducting an unprecedented cross-border offensive in this area for a week.

Lithuanian Defense Minister announced the news of the move of Russian military from Kaliningrad to Kursk Oblast during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev, according to a video posted on the Telegram account. of the Ukrainian leader.

During the meeting with the Lithuanian minister, the Ukrainian president expressed gratitude to Lithuania for its support for Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Ukrinform reported.

"We hope that they (Lithuanians) will continue to be with us until its end and until our victory. This is very important for us," Zelensky wrote.

According to the president's office, the meeting also discussed further assistance from Lithuania, especially in the field of air defense, unmanned aerial vehicles and other critical equipment.

The countries paid special attention to joint steps to develop Ukraine's defense industry.

In addition, Zelensky noted the importance of the security cooperation agreement signed between Ukraine and Lithuania. He also thanked Lithuania for its effective support for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.
