At least seven dead and 12 people were injured in a fire that broke out in a hotel in the South Korean city of Bucheon, reported the "Associated Press", quoted by NOVA.
Chief of the Health Department Kim In-jae said at a briefing that three of the injured were in serious condition and were taken to nearby hospitals.
A representative of the Bucheon Fire Department said there were 23 guests in the hotel when the fire started. He stated that the fire that started on the eighth floor has been extinguished, and the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
The victims were scattered in corridors and stairwells, and their number may increase as emergency workers search the building, the fire department representative also said.
More than 150 firefighters and 46 vehicles were dispatched to extinguish the fire.
