British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in the USA yesterday for talks with the President Joe Biden on the resolution of the conflicts in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
Starmer is due to meet President Biden at the White House later today amid Ukraine's demands to lift restrictions on using Western weapons against Russian targets.
Starmer's visit to Washington comes just two months before Americans head to the polls in the presidential election on November 5, and comes on the heels of British Foreign Secretary David Lammy's visit to Kiev with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Neither of the two top diplomats made a statement on the issue of allowing Ukraine to use Western-supplied long-range missiles to attack targets in Russia, a key demand of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Fears of an escalation of the conflict are one of the reasons why such permission has not yet been granted to Kyiv, DPA notes.
Britain and the US also imposed sanctions on Iran after both countries officially accused Tehran of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia.
Lamy and Blinken also announced additional financial aid for Ukraine, including a package of 600 million British pounds ($788 million) from Britain and 717 million dollars from the United States to meet urgent humanitarian and energy needs, as well as to stabilization of the country.
