Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó discussed bilateral trade and opportunities for enhanced cooperation in the energy sector, the Russian government announced today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
According to the data provided, oil supplies via the southern branch of the "Druzhba" oil pipeline to Hungary in 2024 amounted to 4.78 million tons, while in January 2025 they reached 956,000 tons.
Russian authorities also informed that supplies of Russian gas to Hungary in 2024 reached a record 8.6 billion cubic meters, and as of March 1, 2025 the amount amounts to 1.18 billion cubic meters.
