The health condition of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is stable and satisfactory, said cardiologist Dragan Dincic from the Military Medical Academy (MMA), where Vucic was admitted earlier today, TANYUG reported. He informed that Vucic will be discharged in an hour, but that it is unlikely that he will return to his regular activities in the next few days, BTA reports.

Earlier today it was reported that the Serbian president felt unwell during his visit to the US yesterday afternoon local time. After seeking medical attention and consulting a medical professional, he decided to return to Serbia.

Dinčić told TANJUG that during his stay in the United States, the Serbian president felt a severe chest pain that lasted several seconds.

“He received additional therapy and after 45 minutes, when he measured his blood pressure, it was 165 over 98, which shows that before the therapy was taken, his blood pressure was higher. The doctors from America did everything they could and he decided to return to the country despite the doctors' resistance“, said Dinčić. According to him, at 1 p.m., when he landed in Belgrade, Vučić had no problems.

According to the doctor, in the last 10 years, since he has been treated, Vučić has had problems with high blood pressure three times, but they have never been like the last one. He added that a medical council had assessed the president's current condition as stable and satisfactory and had prescribed therapy.

The Serbian leader said he intended to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9, unless "something happens to him (Vucic) or some incredible threat to Serbia arises," TASS noted.
