Russia announced today that it has established control over another village in Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine. There has been no official reaction from the Ukrainian side so far, BTA reports.

The Russian Defense Ministry, quoted by TASS and Reuters, said that the village of Mirolyubovka (Ukrainian: Mirolyubovka), located in the Pokrovsky district, had been “liberated“ by units of the “Center” group of forces.

Reuters notes that it cannot independently confirm this information.

Mirolyubovka is located about 14 kilometers northeast of the strategically important city of Pokrovsk, which Russian forces have been trying to capture for months. The village is also located approximately 7 kilometers east of the town of Mirnograd - referred to by the Russian authorities by its former name Dimitrov (in honor of Georgi Dimitrov - ed. note).

If the information is confirmed, the Russian army is expected to increase pressure on Mirnograd, located on the road to Pokrovsk from the northeast.
