The candidate of Poland's ruling "Civil Coalition" - Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski - leads the election race with 33.7% support, according to a survey by the Polish IBRIS Sociological Institute for the "Politika" newspaper, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

Karol Nawrocki, supported by the largest opposition force "PiS", received 21.6% of the vote. In third place is Slawomir Menzen from the far-right "Confederation" party with 11.8%.

These three are expected to be the main contenders, as support for the other candidates is in the single digits. Among them are the Speaker of Parliament Shimon Holownia from the "Third Way" party, as well as left-wing candidates Magdalena Beyat and Adrian Zandberg.

If none of the candidates receives more than 50% of the vote in the first round, a runoff between the two with the most support will be held on June 1.
