British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the situation in the Gaza Strip "intolerable" today, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
He added that his government was working with allies to coordinate a response to the development of the conflict in the enclave between Israel and the radical Palestinian group "Hamas".
"This is indeed a serious, unacceptable, intolerable situation and that is why we are working intensively to coordinate with other leaders on how to respond," Starmer told media representatives in London.
EC President Ursula von der Leyen said that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is "unacceptable", and called for the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid deliveries to the Palestinian enclave.
"Humanitarian aid has not entered Gaza for two months. Aid must reach civilians in need immediately and the blockade of Gaza must be lifted now,", von der Leyen said.
She and Starmer spoke to the media after new agreements were signed between Britain and the European Union to boost defence cooperation, ease food trade and ease border checks.
