The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) published a press release on Thursday titled "Serbian military industry is trying to shoot Russia in the back", in which it accused the country of continuing to supply ammunition to Ukraine, despite the official ban on such trade relations with Kiev, quoted by the BBC.

According to the statement, the "cover" for the supplies "is a simple scheme using fake end-user certificates and intermediary countries" - NATO countries, including the Czech Republic, Poland and Bulgaria.

In June last year, the Financial Times wrote that the volume of ammunition exports from Serbia, which reached Ukraine via third countries, amounted to approximately 800 million euros.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed in an interview at the time that the figure corresponded to "approximate indicators".

"Yes, we export our ammunition. We cannot export it to Ukraine or Russia", Vučić said. — "But we had many contracts with Americans, Spaniards, Czechs and others. What they ultimately do with it is their business."
