At least four killed in coordinated bombings in Colombia VIDEO

Rebels detonate bombs near police stations in Cali and neighboring Cauca province

At least four people died yesterday in Colombia after rebels detonated bombs near police stations in Cali and neighboring Cauca province, authorities said, quoted by AP and BTA.

Military and police spokesmen blamed the attacks on FARC - E Eme Se, a group led by former members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) who broke away from the group after it signed a peace agreement with the government in 2016.

Authorities said the rebels planted bombs in cars and motorcycles parked near police stations.

The attacks came just days after conservative presidential candidate Miguel Uribe was shot dead during a rally in Bogota. Authorities said they were investigating who was behind the attack on Uribe, who is in critical condition in a Bogota hospital.

The Colombian government has struggled to contain the violence as several rebel groups seek to seize territory vacated by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia after a peace deal with the government.
