Putin dismisses Roman Starovoit from the post of Minister of Transport: Putin is preparing major changes in the departme

The change comes against the backdrop of ideas for restructuring the department into the Ministry of Infrastructure and Logistics

Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Roman Starovoit from the post of Minister of Transport, according to a decree published by the Kremlin, RIA Novosti reports, Focus reports.

“To dismiss Starovoit Roman Vladimirovich from the post of Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation“, the text of the document reads. The decision comes into force on the day of its signing.

At the end of June, Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyov said during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that the transformation of the department into the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Logistics is being considered, in accordance with the overall reform in the sector.

Starovoit was appointed Minister of Transport in May 2024. Previously, he headed the Kursk Region - initially as deputy head (from October 2018 to September 2019), and subsequently as governor until May 2024.
