Ukraine drones attack Sochi, woman killed, another seriously injured

A citizen also died in the Russian-occupied part of Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine in a Ukrainian attack on a residential area

A woman was killed and another was seriously injured in a drone attack on the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi tonight, Russian authorities said, quoted by DPA.

The woman lost her life as a result of falling debris from a destroyed drone, TASS said, citing the local crisis headquarters.

Separately, TASS reported that a citizen was also killed in the Russian-occupied part of Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine in a Ukrainian attack on a residential area, citing the Russian occupation administration.

Last night, the Defense Ministry in Moscow announced that over 20 drone.

The data could not be independently verified.

Authorities in the Sirius federal district, south of Sochi, reported that a drone had hit an oil terminal, but did not provide further details, Reuters reported.

The Russian civil aviation agency "Rosaviatsia" said that Sochi airport was disrupted for about four hours.

Meanwhile, Russian strikes on Ukraine continued. The city of Odessa was attacked, and a UNESCO site was reportedly damaged in the attack. According to local authorities, the city of Nikolaev was also shelled.

Earlier, the two sides discussed a new prisoner exchange during a brief meeting in Istanbul, but Moscow and Kiev again differed on their views on the conditions for a ceasefire and a possible meeting between their leaders, Reuters notes.

The Ukrainian army often carries out drone attacks against targets deep inside the Russian rear, mainly against energy-related facilities.

In recent weeks, the Russian army has stepped up drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.
