Polish and allied fighter jets were activated this morning to ensure the safety of Polish airspace after Ukraine's air force warned that Russian drones had entered the territory of this NATO member country, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"Polish and allied fighter jets are operating in our airspace, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems are at the highest level of readiness," the Polish operational military command announced in a publication on the "Ex" platform.
Shortly before that, the Ukrainian air force wrote on the "Telegram" application that Russian drones had entered Polish airspace. airspace and threaten the city of Zamość in Poland.
It is not yet clear how many drones are in Polish airspace.
Ukrainian media reported that at least one of the Russian drones was also moving towards the western Polish city of Rzeszow.

Ukrainian air defenses warned of a large number of Russian drones over the central and northeastern regions of the country.
Anti-aircraft fire was heard in the Ukrainian capital Kiev shortly before midnight. Some Russian drones have already entered western Ukraine and are flying towards the city of Lutsk in the Volyn region. Air raid sirens have been sounded across much of the country.
Ukrainian military observers expect Russia to also use air- and sea-launched cruise missiles. Some reports suggest strategic bombers and ships from the Russian Black Sea Fleet equipped with missiles have been readied for deployment.
Ukraine has been resisting a Russian invasion for more than three and a half years and has repeatedly called on its Western allies to bolster its air defenses.
