Along with the Hipster concept, the Romanian brand Dacia also announced extensive technological and design updates for its key models Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Jogger and Logan, which are the main drivers of the brand's success in European and international markets. Sandero continues to be the best-selling private car in Europe, reaching over 300,000 sales in 2024 (309,392 units), while Jogger is the second best-selling model in the European C-segment (excluding SUVs).
Exterior
What first catches the eye is the new lighting signature of the models. They adopt a new LED lighting signature with an inverted "T" symbol above the headlights. This signature is connected to the updated grille by a fine line of pixelated white dots. The rear lights are also "pixelated". In the Jogger, they are an extension of the rear window, following the vertical shape of the fenders.
Another novelty is the use of the so-called Starkle material: In the adventure versions (Sandero Stepway and Jogger) new protectors of the wheel arches and the lower part of the body are used, made of Starkle. This material, developed by Dacia engineers and introduced with Duster, contains 20% recycled plastics. Using it in an unpainted and untreated form reduces the carbon footprint, but more importantly for customers, it improves scratch resistance, while looking pretty good at the same time.
Interior
The changes here are not many, but they are also significant. The interior gets an updated steering wheel with optimized ergonomics, and the hybrid and Eco-G 120 versions with automatic transmission have added the new E-Shifter switch.
Powertrains
The updated range includes significant changes in the drivetrain, aimed at electrification and most importantly for us Bulgarians - alternative fuels:
New Hybrid 155 hybrid powertrain: This powertrain replaces the Hybrid 140 in the Jogger and will be available for the first time in the Sandero Stepway (fourth quarter of 2026). The system combines a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (109 hp), two electric motors (50 hp traction motor and high-voltage starter/generator), a 1.4 kWh (230 V) battery and an automatic electric gearbox without a clutch. The total system output is 155 hp and 170 Nm of torque. In the urban cycle, Dacia with this powertrain can operate in all-electric mode up to 80% of the time.
New Eco-G 120 (LPG): Dacia presents its first LPG engine, available with an automatic gearbox. The new 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine with dual fuel (LPG/petrol) generates 120 hp. (an increase over the previous 100 hp). Emissions in LPG mode are reduced by about 10% compared to an equivalent gasoline unit, and the price of gas is beyond comment. This is the cheapest fuel for cars in our country.
In addition, the versions with built-in AGU impress with an increased capacity of the LPG tank: The capacity of the tanks has been increased (e.g. from 40 l to 49.6 l for Sandero), which leads to a 20% increase in mileage in LPG mode. The total combined range (LPG + petrol) reaches 1,590 km for Sandero.
Digitalisation and connectivity
Dacia is expanding connectivity options while maintaining flexibility in the Media Display and Media Nav Live systems. The central touchscreen is now 10-inch HD (previously 8-inch) in the Media Display and Media Nav Live systems. The latter includes connected navigation with real-time information.
In addition, the 7-inch digital panel acquires a new interface. The cabin also features an induction charger, available for the first time for a phone in the centre console. The YouClip intelligent mounting system is also available here, and has been significantly improved. It is standard on all models, with the number of points varying (e.g. Logan has two points, while Jogger adds a point in the boot). These points allow for secure attachment of accessories such as tablet or phone mounts.
Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
In response to the latest European safety standards, the models also receive new driver assistance systems:
Automatic Emergency Braking: A system that detects vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists (in city and highway mode).
Automatic headlights: Optimize nighttime visibility by automatically switching from high to low beams when oncoming traffic is detected.
Multi-view camera: Makes maneuvering easier, with the center screen showing a top-down view of the vehicle.
“My Safety“ smart button: Provides easy access to the driver's preferred configuration of ADAS systems.
