GM president Mark Reuss said the Camaro should be revived as a significantly updated pony car, hinting that its price won't be high and could start as low as $35,000.
Following the announcement that production of the current sixth-generation Camaro will end at the end of the 2024 model year, various reports of an upcoming novelty with the same name began to appear in the American press.
The company says the current generation is not the last chapter for the model. According to some publications, the Camaro may even be separated into a separate sub-brand, but what most annoys hardcore fans of the model is that it will go electric.
This news comes after a source at GM's technical center said the Corvette could also get several new models. Possible versions include a coupe, convertible, as well as two- and four-door crossovers.
Royce also recently confirmed that the Camaro will return to production as a true pony car, but with an electric drivetrain. He hinted that it could be priced around $35,000, the same price as the new Equinox EV.
